Postdoctoral position

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate with expertise in-vivo two photon imaging and optogenetics.

The ideal candidate will have a background in vivo optical physiology and a Ph.D. in neuroscience, engineering or related disciplines (or will graduate within the next 6 months). You will have the opportunity to apply your previous skills to neuroimmune interactions as well as expand your skillset and be trained in multi-omics molecular approaches.

In addition to scientific and technical training, we will be truly committed to your success and will support you in your next career step.

Yale provides an outstanding environment for conducting successful and rigorous postdoctoral training. The neuroscience community at Yale is highly active and involves interdisciplinary collaborations across multiple academic units including the Departments of Neuroscience, Immunobiology, Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology and more. The Wu Tsai Institute provides excellent opportunities for training and cross-disciplinary dialog.

The position is initially for a period of 1 year, with possible multi-year renewal. Candidates will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Yale University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer. International applicants are welcome to apply.

Postgraduate associate

We are seeking a motivated, curious and diligent postgraduate associate. This position will provide advanced training in a variety of experimental techniques, including cell biology and histological techniques (immunohistochemistry, confocal imaging), mouse work (colony maintenance, genotyping, perfusion) and molecular biology (e.g. cloning). Previous lab experience in one or more of these techniques is preferred.

Although significant time will be devoted to bench work and scientific discovery, about 30% of the applicant’s time will be spent on general lab management, including lab ordering, animal colony management and assisting with regulatory compliance.

The ideal applicant for this position will have Bachelors or Masters degrees in biology, neuroscience, or related disciplines. Ability to work with mice or willingness to learn how to work with mice is required.

A mentoring plan focused on training and professional development will be prepared before starting.

The position is initially for a period of 1 year, with possible reappointment for a second year. Candidates will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Graduate Students

INP and IBIO students interested in a lab rotation are encouraged to reach out.

If you are not an INP or IBIO student (yet) but would like to do your PhD in my lab:
To be a PhD student in my lab, you would first need to be admitted to a Yale PhD program. I can only recruit students from within a Yale PhD program (generally from neuroscience and immunobiology but those from genetics are welcome). For example, you would need to apply to the Yale BBS PhD program in December 2023 for Admissions in the Fall of 2024. Admissions are competitive and evaluated by an admission committee.

Here is some info and links regarding the PhD program at Yale. There are different PhD tracks, I would imagine you would apply for the BBS program and could then join the Neuroscience track or another one. More info here https://medicine.yale.edu/inp/academics/apply/ and here https://medicine.yale.edu/bbs/apply/.
